PREVENTION: DROWNING Is one of the leading causes of death in children under the age of 5. No child is immune, Children are curious by nature. It is our job as parents, grandparents and care providers to provide a safe environment in which they can grow and flourish. We must constantly be vigilant for any potentially dangerous situations.

The Alabama Swim School is led by renowned swim instructor Rafael Cadena. Certified by the elite United States Swimming Association and a member of the American Swimming Coaches Association he has 43 years and 140,000 hours of swimming education, instruction and coaching experience.it it's correct over 140 thousand hours.

Coaching and teaching all ages and levels of swimmers from 12 months to no age limit, Several of swimmers from coach Rafael achievement's the higher competitions over the years to mention few. Sectional, Top 16, High School, All-American and NCAA qualifying swimmers – six of Coach Rafael’s previous swimmers have qualified for the Olympic Trials on 2012 & 2016

Although he was a former head coach of the LJCC Summer Swim Team he has served as Head Coach of the Birmingham Country Club of Birmingham, Magic City Aquatic League, Meridian Swimming Association, Hoover Blue Thunder, and Summer HBT. (Click on Coach’s Bio to see all credentials)

All swim programs at the Alabama Swim School are directed toward each child’s individual needs and abilities. We consider education of the essentials of swimming and water safety key ingredients for your child to become a successful swimmer.

Beginning swimmers are engaged in activities which are educational and fun. Introductory techniques such as using kickboards and blowing bubbles underwater help children to become comfortable in the pool. From there swim strokes are introduced such as freestyle and backstroke. Under Coach Rafael’s supervision he allows each child to advance at a pace that will let him or her take on new challenges while having an enjoyable experience.

At the Alabama Swim School it gives us enormous pleasure to see our kids become stronger and more secure in their swimming abilities. It gives us great pride and joy to watch our students reach milestones and conquer their swim goals with each lesson. As parents you will be very happy with the progress your child will make in the “Alabama swim school program”.
